Community & Culture

We’re Committed to Community

Medallion has a small-company mindset with large-scale capabilities. And with that comes the desire to help the communities who support our work. We believe in giving back to these communities – and to the people within them – in meaningful ways.

While we support a number of initiatives for a variety of reasons, we’re particularly passionate about mental health initiatives. Our other pillars of community involvement align with creating spaces where family and friends can enjoy time together.

As a business in the energy sector, we believe in the value of protecting the environment and keeping our communities safe for generations to come.

And, with our local mindset comes organic sponsorship. Since we remain close with our teams, when our employees feel passionate about certain issues, we take that seriously, looking for ways to support our communities at the ground level.

We Are A Proud Sponsor

While we’re constantly re-evaluating our sponsorships and looking for new, meaningful ways to assist the communities we’re a part of, we currently support these initiatives & companies:

  • Buddy Up: Buddy Up is a Calgary-based initiative focused on breaking down barriers in men’s mental health and suicide awareness. This program is a call to action for men, created by men, to open up conversations and dismantle stigmas about men’s suicide.
  • The Spirit Tree: The Spirit Tree is a group of community-minded individuals in its seventh year of supporting families in need. This year they were able to provide Christmas for 25 large families in need, a total of 176 people that we got from Helping Hands/ Northreach Society. Family’s were supplied with hampers that included Christmas dinner, breakfast and items to make soup, as well as a grocery gift card. Each person in the family received gifts as well.
  • Alpha Bull and Tse’k’wa Heritage Society PBR: Alpha Bull hosted a professional bull riding (PBR) event in Dawson Creek on Saturday, December 7th that raised $34,000 for Tse’k’wa National Historic Site.

Sponsorship Requests & Guidelines

What We Look For In A Sponsorship Request

  • Initiatives that align with our work culture and beliefs.
  • Requests that show a commitment to individual or community wellness, such as sports and arts programs, initiatives for physical or mental health and wellness, and other community-inclusive activities and events.
  • Local groups who aim to solve local problems in the communities our clients and employees live in.

The Medallion Work Culture

We care deeply about the people within our organization. To us, business becomes personal, and we stand by creating meaningful relationships that support others.

Our employees work for us for a number of reasons, but one that comes up over and over is our work culture. We work hard, but we encourage balance, understanding that our employees are never just numbers on a spreadsheet.

Medallion Core Values

Our business culture can be divided into four core values that drive all aspects of our company, from our employees to our client relationships.

0 0
People First.

Personal connections are vital to our business. We strive to create connections between colleagues, clients, and our community. By putting the humans first, we’ve become a company that can sustainably exist in our communities – and even represent them with pride.

We treat employees and clients like people, not numbers. With every step forward we take, we’re constantly asking ourselves whether we’ve put the people involved first, and making any necessary adjustments from there.

0 0
Collaborative Leadership.

When people are encouraged to take initiative, people thrive. And when people thrive, they work better, harder, and more effectively. Our employees take ownership of their work.

Every individual understands they’re a cornerstone in the success of our business, leading the company to better processes and procedures.

0 0
Accountability & Integrity.

Everything we do – every job, interaction, and decision – is backed by ownership. Our employees own their decisions, our managers are held accountable to their word, and our business is driven by our core values.

When we hold ourselves to high levels of accountability and integrity, we allow the foundations of our company’s culture to guide our actions, every single day.

0 0
Sustainable Education & Growth.

We’re here to stay. And part of that means ensuring that our growth is sustainable, both in terms of business and environmental challenges. We aim to create a long-lasting company, and that means making decisions with the future in mind.

With growth, comes education. We drive our employees and ourselves to constantly remain educated and informed, developing new processes, procedures, and mandates to respond to new technology and methods.
